“Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before” Phillipians 3:12-13
Have you ever felt there’s a new level you are about to enter but somehow you still felt held back by the fear of failing due to past experiences?
I pray that this post will help you to break out of such limitations and inspire you to break forth into the very best you can be for God and The Kingdom this season and always.
Everyone has a past: pleasant or painful. However, we can not have true rest if we do not allow our past to rest.
A pastor was always seen guilty and remorseful over a past sin. He had repented of that sin but couldn’t just shake off the gloom and guilt of that past act. There was a woman in his congregation who always shared her vision of seeing Jesus face to face with the pastor.
Weary of always hearing her speak of her lofty vision.
One day,the woman came as usual, the pastor was ready with a challenge for her. The pastor told her to ask Jesus to tell her what sin he committed while in seminary.
The woman went home and the next time the pastor saw her, He asked, “What did Jesus tell you?”
The woman replied, “Jesus said,He has forgotten”.
Could it be that you are still remembering the past that Jesus has since wiped away? Break free from now.God so lovingly admonished us thus:
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
God’s word to us in the ministry this year is Isaiah 54:3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
To break forth into more Christ likeness, to break forth into the manifold Grace of God, to break forth into unusual dimensions of His love, to break forth into His power, riches, wisdom, honor, glory and blessing, you will need to intentionally forget the past and reach forth to those things which are ahead.
As you humble yourself to obey God’s word to forget the past,He will shower his grace for an all round supernatural breaking forth on you. Shalom beloved!
